Current City Volunteer Opportunities
On October, 20, 2016, the City of Moscow will be conducting it's annual iCount event to count bicyclists and pedestrians at locations throughout Moscow. Visit the iCount project page for more information on the project and how to volunteer.
The City of Moscow is always seeking applicants to fill positions on certain boards and commissions. Find more information regarding each commission or board's purpose and meeting schedules (PDF). It is recommended that applicants attend a meeting of the commission they are interested in, if possible. All commission meetings are open to the public. Moscow residents are invited to learn specific details by visiting our Commissions page.
Moscow Volunteer Fire Department
The Moscow Volunteer Fire Department (MVFD) is 125 years old, and its members volunteer thousands of hours of training and countless hours of response time every year without cost to the citizens of Moscow. Currently, the MVFD has approximately 100 volunteers providing fire protection service and volunteer ambulance service within the City of Moscow and the Moscow Rural Fire District. The work can be physically demanding and emotionally challenging. To apply, please fill out the MVFD application (PDF).
Moscow Farmers Market
Our Farmers Market is consistently ranked among the best in the country, thanks in part to the efforts of our amazing volunteers. We offer morning and afternoon volunteer shifts to assist with setting up and breaking down market equipment, as well as opportunities to lead demonstrations and perform live music. If you are interested in volunteering for the Moscow Farmers Market please email Jenine Estlick and fill out the application (PDF) to be turned into the Farmers Market office in City Hall or at time of service. Minors can apply with the minor application (PDF).
Help run a two-floor art gallery featuring works of local and regional artists for the enjoyment of residents and visitors to the community. Assist with a number of arts events and programs.
