Youth Programs

Power of Produce Club

This season will feature the POP Club (Power of Produce) where children ages 4 through 12 are welcome to visit the Moscow Farmers Market the third Saturday of each month from 10:00 a.m. to noon to join the POP Club. Registration and check-in will be located at the designated POP Club booth at the Market.

The POP Club offers a chance for children to explore the Moscow Farmers Market and learn about the different varieties of fruits and vegetables, while also learning about how food is grown, by connecting them with local farmers.

A parent or guardian must attend POP Club events with their child.

POP Club is brought to you by the City of Moscow, the Moscow Farmers Market, Backyard Harvest, Eat Smart Idaho, and the Moscow Food Co-op. The POP Club program is offered through the Farmers Market Coalition, a nonprofit dedicated to strengthening farmers markets across the United States so that they can serve as community assets while providing real income opportunities for farmers

CALS Summer of Science

Summer of Science

The University of Idaho College of Agriculture and Life Science brings the Summer of Science to the market, and they offer unique agricultural science activities for children ages 5 to 11 throughout the market season. CALS faculty experts and students introduce participants to topics like entomology, animal science, plant science, nutrition, and food science.

Children collect different items at each event to build their own science kit. Participants also receive a passport upon their first visit, and those who attend at least five events are entered into a drawing for prizes.

Safe Routes to School

Safe Routes to School promotes walking and biking throughout our community, including pedestrian routes to the farmers market. They will be at the Market the second Saturday of each month from 10:00 a.m. to noon offering bike education.
