Bike Rack Program

The City of Moscow Bike Rack Program seeks to encourage and facilitate, through local cooperation, bicycling as a viable means of transportation in the City through the matching of funds for the purchase of bicycle racks to local businesses and other activity centers that serve the public. Bike racks may or may not include an ARTful component.

The Program

  • City reimbursement of $100 per rack for the purchase of one or more a-frame bike racks per applicant
  •  Bicycle rack location assistance and installation provided by the City of Moscow
  • Option to work with the City of Moscow Arts Department to develop an ARTful bike rack

Eligibility

Local businesses and organizations in the city of Moscow are eligible to apply. Property for installation site may be publicly owned. If the property is privately owned, proof of permission to install from the property owner must be provided.

To Apply

Applications will be accepted on a revolving basis subject to fund availability. Applicants should complete and submit one copy of the application per location by mail, fax, email, or in person to the City Hall Administration Office. Successful applicants will be notified within 45 days from the date the application is received.

Selection Process

The City of Moscow Bike Rack Installation Committee will review all applications. A site evaluation will be scheduled for applicants who meet the minimum criteria, including but not limited to usage of current facilities, if applicable; projected usage; projected audience; and need. Site evaluation will include suitability of location and proximity to existing bicycle facilities and routes. Racks will be awarded to applicants who exhibit the greatest need for bike racks while meeting minimum criteria. Once approved, the applicant will be contacted by the Arts Department if an ARTful component was requested.
