Farmers Market Fee Project
The Farmers Market Commission was charged by the City Council to provide a recommendation regarding a fee increase for vendors. This direction came from an inconsistent approach to fee increases in the past as well as a lack of information on the actual costs of the Market. Since that time a thorough review of costs and fees has been completed. It was determined that the fee structure based on walk-on and season vendor groupings was extremely inequitable. As such, the Commission recommended, and Council approved, addressing the way fees are charged rather than implementing a fee increase for 2017. The Commission and City Staff has spent 6 months reviewing data, debating methods and determining how to best serve vendors and the community with a revised proposal as outlined here.
