What is Plein Air?
French for "in the open air" used to describe the act of painting outdoors. Plein Air competitions are all about painting outdoors in a specific area or region and then having those paintings exhibited in an art gallery.

Historic Moscow, Idaho and the beautiful Palouse are the perfect destination for plein air artists, which is why they are the back drop for Palouse Plein Air 2015.
An area with a long history of farming, mining, logging, with fields, rivers, mountains and historic homes... a plein air paradise!

Palouse Plien Air 2015 is a 7 day painting competition for artists 18 years-of-age or older.
Entrance fee includes:
- Registration in the competition
- Invitation to the Reception / Awards Ceremony on September 25
- Invitation to the One Day Sale on September 26
All painting mediums are invited to participate. There is no limit on the number of painting surfaces participants can register for the event.
Judging & Exhibition at the Prichard Art Gallery
On September 25 from 8:00 a.m. to noon participants are to deliver a maximum of 3 finished entries framed and ready to hang to the Prichard Art Gallery. The Gallery is located at 414 South Main Street. The judging will be by the participatns and will take place from 4:00 to 4:45 p.m.
Reception and Awards Ceremony
On September 25 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. an artist reception and awards ceremony will be held at the Prichard Art Gallery. The event is free and open to the public.
One Day Sale
September 26, 2015 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
