Clerk's Office
The City Clerk
is responsible for record management including archives, contracts,
agreements, resolutions, ordinances, minutes, and agendas; and insures
the availability of those records to the Council, public, other agencies,
and staff.
The Clerk oversees
municipal elections, issues business licenses; aids in Council meeting
agenda preparation and distribution; and accepts claims for damages
and other legal papers served on the city.
The Clerk administers
oaths, performs certifications, and administers codification of the
City Code.
The Clerk's office
also composes, oversees, and issues legal notices in compliance with
State law for such actions as code changes, rezones, annexations,
public notices, and related public hearings; the Clerk administers
public bid openings, and is the
Custodian of the City Seal.
The Clerk also
participates in Local Improvement District activities, including but
not limited to preparation of legal documents such as resolutions
and ordinances.
The Clerk also
serves as a Notary for official city documents.
