​City Seeks Finance Director

The City of Moscow, home to the University of Idaho, is seeking candidates for Finance Director.  This is a full-time position offering substantial benefits and a starting salary of $95,000+ DOE. Benefits include full medical, vision and dental coverage.  Other benefits include participation in the Idaho PERSI pension program and a robust VEBA program.

The Finance Director collaborates with and is supervised by the City Supervisor and is a critical member of the City's leadership team.  The City embraces a dynamic team approach based on the solid foundation of the City's strategic plan.  The Finance Director oversees the City's long-term financial plan and will lead the City's financial planning efforts to address the strategic plan initiatives.  The successful candidate will be able to analyze, research, and develop innovative approaches for the future.  The Finance Director assists with development and management of the City's annual budget which averages more than $60 million.  The City of Moscow has received the prestigious Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) award for excellence in financial reporting for its Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) for 12 consecutive years.

The candidate will possess proven leadership skills to lead the nine members of the Finance Department team.  The functions of the department include cash handling and investments, accounts payable and receivable, payroll, utility billing, sanitation management, and budget and audit preparation.
