Learn More About Our Chief of Police

Dan Weaver has been a lifelong resident of Idaho. He was raised on a farm near the Southern Idaho town of Rupert. His Father was a farmer and his mother was a teacher. After graduating from high school, Dan came to Moscow to attend the University of Idaho. After several business ventures Dan joined the Moscow Police reserves in 1971. He worked as the Potlatch Marshall for a short time prior to becoming a full time officer for the Moscow Police Department in 1973. He moved up through the ranks becoming chief in 1995.

He has a bachelors degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Idaho, is a graduate of the F.B.I. National Academy, and Delinquency Control Institute. Dan resides in Moscow with his wife, Sally, and children.

He enjoys many Idaho outdoor activities and enjoys working with the many fine men and women of the Moscow Police Department.
