Jean Knierim
Chaplain Corps
Chaplain Jean Knierim is a Law Enforcement Chaplain. Jean, along with John Scott and Connie Stiller, is a member of the Latah-Moscow Chaplain Corps. They serve the Latah County Sheriff Office and the Moscow Police Department. Their assistance with death notifications, suicides and hospital visits eases the officers burdens. All chaplains are members of the ICPC (International Conference of Police Chaplains). The ICPC offers the specialized training necessary to function as a Law Enforcement Chaplain.
Jean has been with the Latah-Moscow Chaplain Corps for 5 years. She also volunteers at the Moscow Police Department one day a week. Jean is a Nazarene Minister and the Latah County Clergy Liaison to the Project ACCESS Mental Health Board.
When I receive a call out I know I am facing a traumatic situation with people in pain. I dont have a magic wand to wave, but I have learned that just being there with Chaplain visible on my person helps to defuse the circumstances. I regard time spent riding along with my officers as a privilege and an honor. They are some of the finest men and women I know and respect them for the difficult jobs they do. I am blessed to be Serving Those Who Serve.
