The City of Moscow and the Moscow Arts Commission would like to invite you to Artwalk 2013 on Friday, June 14. This year's Artwalk features 75 businesses and more than 125 artists from the beautiful Moscow, Idaho, community and surrounding area.
Events featured at Artwalk 2013 include the following:
Opening reception at the Intermodal Transit Center, 1006 Railroad Street, at 3 p.m. showcasing Broadsided Press and Broadsided Poets and the newly installed sculpture garden. Broadsided Press and Broadsided Poets have poster-sized collages of poetry and art on display in the ITC. Look for more information about Poetry on Buses throughout the month of June. Visit the sculpture garden outside the ITC to see the first of the biannually rotating installations of sculpture featuring the work of University of Idaho Art 340: Intermediate and Advanced Sculpture students.
City of Moscow Water Department BBQ for refreshments! The Water Department is hosting its annual open house beginning at 3 p.m. Enjoy free BBQ and refreshments and learn about where your water comes from and how you can conserve it. Visit the Z-Fun booth to sign up for one of the many prizes to be raffled off, including a family pool pass to the Hamilton-Lowe Aquatic Center.
Live music on Main Street from 4 to 10:30 p.m. featuring the Palouse Jazz Project, Greater Palouse Youth Orchestra, Moscow Arts Commission Band, and Clumsy Lovers.
Aaron Johnson Artwalk 2013 Cover Artist exhibit and opening reception at the Third Street Gallery at Moscow City Hall, 206 E Third Street, at 5 p.m. Don't forget to pick up a signed Artwalk 2013 poster!
Downtown activities include chalk art and food vendors including Sisters' Cookies, Sticky Fingers Ice Cream, and PRLR Mobile Pizza. Art demonstrations on Main Street include portrait drawing, glass blowing, fly tying, historical crafts, sword fighting, and more. New utility box vinyl wraps are featured on Jackson and Washington Streets at the intersections of 3rd and 6th Streets.
Many of the Artwalk 2013 business opening receptions start at 5 p.m. All receptions are listed in the Artwalk 2013 brochure which will be available June 13, 2013 on the City of Moscow website at www.ci.moscow.id.us or in hardcopy on June 14, 2013 in the Moscow Pullman Daily News, the Lewiston Tribune, at the Moscow Chamber of Commerce, the Artwalk 2013 Information Tent on Main Street, and online on the City of Moscow website.
