Moscow Farmers Market — Activities for June 15, 2013

Join us Saturday, June 15, for the Moscow Farmers Market in downtown Moscow! The Market runs from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. May through October and features live music, fresh local produce, delicious homemade baked goods, healthy nursery plants, beautiful flowers, and quality handmade crafts.  If you need help getting your purchases to your vehicle, try using an available market wagon.

Music:  At Friendship Square live music will be provided by Sesitshaya Marimba at 9:30 a.m. followed by Brian Gill at 11:45 a.m.  Sesitshaya Marimba is dedicated to continuing the musical traditions of Zimbabwe, but its music is also from South Africa, Kenya, Zambia and the Caribbean Islands.  They enjoy telling the background of the songs and often sing in Shona, one of Zimbabwe's major languages.  The band loves audience involvement and hopes that people dance, clap in accompaniment, tap their feet, sing, and generally enjoy the high energy and fun of this world music.

Special Events: Discover You Can – Learn Make Share℠ canning demonstration featuring raspberry jam; Moscow Tree Commission at the City Information Tent; and it's Performing Arts Day.

Vendor of the Week: Hadley Farm and Garden featuring varieties of fruits and vegetables that change depending on the growing season. Highlights include eggs, herbs, and vegetable starts. Hadley Farm and Garden has been a vendor at the Moscow Farmers Market for 12 years.

Shop the Market:  Area families can use EBT or SNAP benefits. Visit the Shop the Market booth at the City Information Tent to receive "Market Money," which vendors will accept for approved purchases.  The City of Moscow Farmers Market is a proud partner and sponsor of Shop the Market.

Come and support Idaho's oldest Farmers Market by purchasing a stainless steel water bottle or our organic cotton shopping bags.  Check them out at the City Information Tent.  Check for updates and let us know how we are doing on Facebook, Twitter, Yelp, and Trip Advisor!
