The City of Moscow Public Works Department is preparing for a project that will reconstruct the deteriorating Jackson Street Parking Lot located on Jackson Street between 4th and 6th Streets. The project is a part our ongoing efforts to improve the infrastructure in Downtown Moscow while incorporating innovative stormwater quality improvements. The project commenced on June 27 and is expected to be substantially complete by August 9, 2013.
Prior to construction, City crews improved an area at the southwest corner of 6th and Jackson for temporary parking during this inconvenience. A map of the alternate parking available can be found on the City's website at www.ci.moscow.id.us.
The work will include removing and replacing deficient asphalt pavement, concrete curbs, and sidewalk. Three of the existing concrete divider islands will be replaced with vegetated drainage swales, which will reduce the amount of pollutants currently entering our stormwater system from the existing lot. A non-compliant pedestrian ramp will also be modified to meet current ADA standards.
The project has been awarded to Germer Construction of Moscow, Idaho in the amount of $278,299.00.
