Join us Saturday, August 10th for the Moscow Farmers Market on Main Street and in Friendship Square in Downtown Moscow! At Friendship Square live music will be provided by Janis Carper & Cris Peterson at 9:30 a.m.
The duo of Janis Carper and Cris Peterson combine top-notch songwriting and vocal harmonies with multi-instrumental skills on guitar, mandolin and violin into a roots-Americana sound that has a strong groove. Much of the music they play is material co-written in the past year, plus originals each musician brings to the mix.
Carper and Peterson played together in the country-rock band High Ride that toured the northwest US and Canada in the early eighties, based out of northern Idaho. Having lost touch with each other for thirty years, they have reunited to form a sound that combines their influences of rock, blues and folk, resulting in an unforgettable blend. These two seasoned musicians shine, whether it's a folk-rock ballad or saucy blues number, synchronicity is the key and they are right on!
In other music endeavors, Peterson is lead guitarist/violinist/mandolinist for the Moscow-Pullman area bands, Corn Mash and Undiscovered County, and Carper is the primary songwriter/singer/rhythm guitarist for the Eastern Oregon-based rock and blues band The Alibis.
