In only 60 minutes, the 12th Annual Gritman Medical Center Pink Tea raised $42,000 for screening mammograms for local women who cannot otherwise afford them, locally known as the Bosom Buddies program. Gritman Medical Center is the local non-profit hospital serving Moscow, Idaho and the surrounding region.
Moscow Mayor Nancy Chaney, Member of the Boards of Directors for the National League of Cities and Association of Idaho Cities and former nurse was a table captain at the event along with more than 50 other women who each recruited up to nine guests to attend the event with the goal of increasing awareness of the Bosom Buddies program and encouraging donations to the fund.
One hundred percent of the Pink Tea donations go to the Bosom Buddies program and the fund has helped more than 800 women since the program began.
Highlights of this year's Pink Tea included emcee, Patricia Kempthorne, former First Lady of Idaho and speakers Dr. Rayme Geidl, Dr. Geoffrey Stiller, Dr. Derrick Walker and keynote speaker Dianne Daley-Laursen, former First Lady of the University of Idaho.
