Councilmember John Weber Passes Away

The City of Moscow is saddened to announce that Councilmember John Weber passed away last night. He had been fighting a courageous battle with cancer for the past two years and was unable to overcome it. John was completing the end of his second four-year term on City Council and lost his bid for re-election to a two-year Council seat on Tuesday. John was a strong advocate for common sense and efficient government, and was passionate about public service and his community. A life-long member of the Moscow community, he graduated from Moscow High School in 1965 and held an undergraduate degree and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Idaho. John was a Moscow native through and through.

"John was a great friend, both personally and professionally. His commitment to Moscow has been evident his entire life. He had a passion for this community and our citizens, regardless of who you were. We will miss John's humor and perspectives. Our thoughts are with his family and friends", said Mayor Bill Lambert. "Moscow lost a great one today."

Details regarding services and memorials will be forthcoming as the family makes decisions.
