Julia Parker was elected to Moscow City Council in November 2021 for a four-year term. She has lived in Moscow with her family for over 20 years. A life-long learner, Julia attended The Ohio State University, University of Toledo, Michigan State University, University of Idaho and Lewis-Clark State University. She earned two bachelor’s degrees and a Ph.D. In addition, Julia is a registered nurse, board certified in gerontology. Outside of her work for Moscow City Council, Julia uses her diverse educational, career and volunteer background to provide legal and elder care consulting. She authored the books: Navigating Elder Care and Notes on A Costa Rican Sabbatical. Julia has served on several local boards of directors and now serves as council liaison to the Sustainable Environment Commission, and the Fair and Affordable Housing Commission as well as serving as a member of the Clearwater Economic Development Association and a member of the city council’s Administration Committee. Julia enjoys time with friends and family, arts of all kinds and long-distance running and cycling. You can find her very often on local trails and in downtown Moscow enjoying local businesses.
