Prescription Drug Drop Off

Moscow Police accepts medications to ensure their disposal is done in an environmentally-safe manner. When medications are improperly disposed of by flushing them down the toilet or throwing in the trash, the chemicals can affect our water resources. Studies have shown that trace amounts of free-flowing pharmaceutical waste exists in our lakes, rivers, and streams.

In 2021, we collected over 182.5 pounds of medication.  Drugs surrendered to the department will be destroyed in the incinerator in Spokane, WA.

A prescription drug turn-in box is located in the lobby of the Police Department for public use during business hours from 8 am to 5 pm.

We Accept:

All prescription, non-prescription and sample pills, tablets, and capsules

We do NOT Accept:

Needles and liquids
