The Intermodal Transit Center (ITC) is the result of a $1.5 million Transportation Investment Generating Economic Recovery (TIGER II) grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation. The facility is designed to feature exterior covered structures with a foot passenger loading zone and secure parking for buses and bicycles. The ITC will link services provided by the local transit provider, the University of Idaho's Vandal Shuttle, and intercity bus service provided by Northwestern Trailways and Wheatland Express. The facility will also provide access for taxis, vanpools and carpools, and will expand pedestrian and bicyclist accessibility with access to Paradise Path. The components of the ITC have been designed to provide a seamless, one-stop concept for transportation in the community.
Sustainable Moscow Area Regional Transit is the "SMART" choice for public transportation in and round Moscow, Idaho. Formerly known as Moscow Valley Transit, under the non-profit parent organization of Regional Public Transportation, Inc., the "SMART" name is the result of a community-wide "Name Your Transit" contest.
SMART is the same reliable provider of free public transportation in Moscow that we've all come to know and love. This service has been in action for nearly 20 years, and it has been in Moscow since 1994. In addition to the traditional public transportation and bus service, the dial-a-ride service is also available to the community.
Parking and Transportation Services (PTS) provides safe and effective transportation systems for University of Idaho's Moscow campus. It provides customer service and permit/parking products for the campus community and visitors to campus. It plans for and promotes alternative transportation modes/options, including bicycle access and amenities, pedestrian circulation and access, and Zipcar and Zimride. It manages:
It also manages approximately 6,000 parking spaces with about 4,800 of those being permitted spaces.
