Our Computer Forensics detectives are highly sought after for their skills by state, federal and other surrounding agencies to assist them with their investigations.

Computer Forensic detectives receive extensive training in the use of specialized computer equipment and software for use in nearly every investigation in today’s world. They have a plethora of expertise in data recovery from various devices which include cell phones, flash drives, hard drives, person data devices, gaming systems, video systems, etc.

The Moscow Police Department is a part of the Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce (ICAC) and continues to conduct proactive internet investigations in order to identify and prosecute crimes involving the production and distribution of child pornography.

School Resource Officer

The Moscow Police Department, in partnership with the Moscow School District, jointly funds the position of School Resource Officer.

The mission of our School Resources Officer is to work in conjunction with local elementary, secondary schools and other service agencies to provide a positive and safe environment for our students to learn and socialize. The School Resource Officer’s (SRO) focus is on community interests within the school system. The officer, while in school, is involved in a variety of functions aimed at prevention. They are a resource for students, parents, teachers and administration regarding criminal justice issues.

Another duty for the SRO is providing a link with local agencies which provide preventive and counseling services within the school district. Working hand-in-hand with the principal in each school, the SRO assists with finding solutions to problems affecting school-aged children

The SRO also oversees one of the community's favorite community policing events--the Citizens Police Academy.
