Of the six contributing factors to the City of Moscow’s total greenhouse gas production, the City’s Fleet was the third largest contributor. This makes Fleet management a key factor in reaching the City of Moscow environmental management goals. The City of Moscow EcoDriver Program was created as a comprehensive sustainable approach.
Changing Driving Habits
The EcoDriver Program trains users of the City Fleet to make small changes to driving habits. These changes, when taken in aggregate across the entire fleet can make a significant difference. In addition the EcoDriver Program informs vehicle choices, right-sizing of the fleet, and encourages participation and cooperation from the community. Since its inception the City of Moscow has reversed a trend for increased fuel consumption, and is operating a more sustainable fleet.
