- Slurry Seal
Project consists of applying 150,000 square yards of Asphalt Slurry Seal Coat (Type II) to various locations throughout the City of Moscow. Construction is anticipated to commence in June 2019 and be complete by the end of August 2019.
- Asphalt Rubber Chip Seal
This project consists of applying 44,000 square yards of Asphalt Rubber Chip Seal (Type II) to various locations throughout the City of Moscow. Construction is anticipated to commence in June 2019 and be complete by the end of August 2019.
- Third Street Bicycle/Pedestrian Bridge
The Third Street Bicycle/Pedestrian Bridge is a ten foot wide, fifty-five foot long structure that spans Paradise Creek and allows pedestrian and bicycle traffic to traverse east and west along Third Street. The bridge was installed on May 16, 2019 and is anticipated to be completed and open to the public mid-June 2019.
- Pedestrian Curb Ramp Improvement Project
A deficient pedestrian curb ramp will be replaced at the SE corner of the intersection of Jackson Street (US 95) and Third Street. Construction is anticipated to commence mid May 2019 and be complete by the end of August 2019.
- Sidewalk Program
The intent of the City of Moscow Sidewalk Improvement Program is to replace damaged or deficient sidewalks and pedestrian curb ramps, and generally improve pedestrian access throughout the community. In an effort to encourage property owners to replace deficient sidewalks adjacent to their property, one provision of the program allows property owners to request City assistance with estimating, contracting, and inspecting the work of replacing their sidewalks. The program is anticipated to commence late May 2019 and be complete by the end of October 2019.
- Third Street Multimodal Improvements, Phase II
This project includes the installation of a two-way bike lane separated from vehicular traffic along Third Street from Mountain View to Washington Street. The two five foot wide bike lanes will traverse the north side of Third Street and will be separated from vehicular traffic by the installation of pavement markings and physical barriers along the route. Construction of the bike lanes is anticipated for 2020. Other portions of this project, such as the Third Street Bicycle/Pedestrian Bridge spanning Paradise Creek, have already begun and construction of bulb outs at Third Street and Jefferson will commence in 2019.
- Indian Hills Water Main Replacement
This project consists of replacing approximately 3,400 ft. of undersized 6” water main with 8” pipe. Increasing the size of the water main will provide better fire flow protection, greater water capacity and will also supplement the replacement of the existing Indian Hills Pressure Station. Existing water main will be replaced in the area of Indian Hills Drive, Atsirk Street, and Pine Cone Road. Work is expected to begin in late fall of 2019.
- Inflow and Infiltration Abatement (I & I)
Infiltration and Inflow occurs when ground water and stormwater enters the City collections system through root intrusions, faulty service connections, and other leak related issues. I & I problems are worsened by rain and flooding events. This increase on the system results in an additional burden for the City of Moscow Water Reclamation & Reuse Facility (WRRF). In order to effectively address I & I problems, the entire collections system needs to be sealed. This includes manholes, sewer mains, and individual building services. In 2019 the focus will be on sealing manholes and testing multiple products for their effectiveness. The majority of construction can be performed using small equipment, which will result in minimal disruption to the travelling public. This project is expected to begin mid-June 2019 and be complete by September 2019.
