The Water Reclamation Department of the Public Works and Services Group is responsible for the conveyance and treatment of wastewater. The wastewater system is comprised of 86 miles of sewer pipe, ranging in diameter from 6 to 36 inches, 1,960 manholes, 4 lift stations, and the Water Reclamation Facility (WRF). The WRF utilizes a biological nutrient removal process to safely and effectively treat the water before it is discharged into Paradise Creek.
Learn about how Moscow's wastewater is treated by visiting our Reclamation Facility. Tours are a great way for groups to learn more about the complexity of treating wastewater and how the City of Moscow keeps our community's water clean for future generations.
Tours are tailored to the audience and are intended for the general public, school groups (4th-college), and special interest groups. An operator will lead the 60-minute tour.
