Fire Academy

Moscow Volunteer Fire and Ambulance conduct an annual Fire Academy each Spring and Fall coinciding with the University of Idaho academic calendar. Recruits are trained in technical and manipulative firefighter skills including;

  • Personal Protective Equipment
  • Ground Ladders
  • Fire Hose Management
  • Fire Control
  • Salvage/Overhaul
  • Hazardous Material Operations.

Recruits completing the course and pass an in-house examination, have the opportunity to certify as a firefighter through Fire Service Technology (FST) of Idaho in partnership with the International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC).
