The Third Street Gallery will host a reception for Cozy on Thursday, January 30 from 5-7 p.m. The event will include a viewing of the art in the gallery, Things with String demonstrations sponsored by The Yarn Underground, and a no-host bar and refreshments provided by Bloom. The reception is open to the public free of charge.
Cozy, a fiber art invitational exhibition featuring regional artists, is on display at Moscow City Hall through January 31, 2020. This is a time of year for turning inward, for becoming cozy in the warm spaces and textures of the home. It is also, somewhat paradoxically, a time when people reach out for connections with others in celebration of the season’s many holidays.
The fiber arts, with their warmth and reliance on patterns of connection, are a perfect metaphor for winter’s balance of social flurries and domestic comforts.
Cozy highlights each maker’s personal relationship with materials and processes while revealing how the fiber arts connect the region’s artists.
