February is a month of musical celebration in Moscow, Idaho, as student and professional performers take the stage at the University of Idaho’s Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival.
Exuberant appreciation for music takes many forms, and in dance, enthusiasm often travels down the length of the arms to cheerful jazz hands. At once spontaneous, campy, choreographed, and time-honored, jazz hands embody the joy of moving to music.
In the Third Street Gallery’s exhibition Jazz Hands, artists echo that celebration. Graphic design and illustration dance to the rhythm and flow of the song.
