Hamilton-Lowe Aquatics Center

The City of Moscow is looking for a highly motivated, positive person to join the Hamilton-Lowe Aquatic Center team.

Basic Function

The Concessions Manager will be responsible for the day to day operation of the Hamilton-Lowe Aquatic Center concession stand and admissions. This full-time temporary seasonal position will supervise other full-time temporary concession staff, and reports directly to the Lead HLAC Manager and/or Recreation Manager.

Distinguishing Characteristics

The Concessions Manager function is an operational position only, managing within the scope of authority provided by the Lead HLAC Manager as directed by the Recreation Manager.   Day-to-day responsibilities are regular and consistent with little need for independent authority and decision making outside scope of training.

Essential Functions

  • The incumbent shall work well under pressure; meeting multiple and sometimes competing deadlines.  
  • The incumbent shall at all times demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues and supervisors.
  • Collect fees and charges related to daily registration at the swimming pool, give change, make receipts, and balance cash received with total of receipts issued at the end of the work shift.
  • Communicate with other staff, management, and the general public.
  • Development and implementation of in-service training/training materials for concessions positions.
  • Ensure facility and grounds are kept in a clean and orderly manner.
  • Hire, schedule, train, and make discipline recommendations to supervisor for concession staff.
  • Maintain and model excellent customer service to staff and patrons.
  • Maintenance and cleaning as required.
  • Perform and document safety and maintenance inspections as need to anticipate and prevent accidents.
  • Perform/document concessions safety and maintenance inspections.
  • Prepare food and beverage items in accordance to law and policy and maintain inventory levels.
  • Process documents pertaining to revenue, expenses, staff scheduling, inventory, and incident reports.
  • Receive patrons and visitors requesting information answering questions or referring to other staff at all times. 
  • Report all accidents/concerns involving any aspect of the facility to the Lead HLAC Manager and/or Recreation Manager.
  • Respond quickly, effectively, and efficiently to all emergency situations.
  • Supervise assigned staff in the concessions area.

  • Supervision of seasonal temporary concessions staff.

Work Environment

  • Work is performed primarily outdoors

Required Education and Experience

  • Graduation from high school or GED
  • Food service, cash handling or equivalent experience highly desirable.
  • Minimum of one-year management experience in the food prep industry.

Additional Eligibility Requirements

  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Food servers permit highly desirable.
