Beginning Monday September 17, 2018, roadway improvements will begin on Mountain View Road from E. Sixth Street to Joseph Street.
Improvements will consist of an asphalt grind and inlay. During this process the road surface is milled to a smooth plane, removing the existing asphalt to a depth of approximately 2.5 inches. New asphalt is then applied, providing a sealed road surface. This method is intended to repair roads with severely damaged surface layers while allowing the City to keep the structurally sound base layer. A grind and inlay project is done for a fraction of the price of a full road rebuild but still results in a smooth road surface and increased roadway life.
Periodic lane and road closures will be necessary while work is being performed. Citizens are asked to be aware of detours set up near these locations. Please refer to the attached map for work areas and detours.
This project is funded through the City of Moscow Pavement Program. The City of Moscow has contracted with Motley-Motley, Inc. of Pullman, WA., and construction is anticipated to be complete by Wednesday September 19, 2018.
