December 10, 2019 (Moscow, Idaho) -- The Moscow Farmers Market is excited to announce the implementation of Little Free Gardens, a new AmeriCorps service project.
Moscow's Little Free Gardens will be set up near City Hall and the Downtown district, providing seasonal, locally-grown foods that are free and accessible to community members. Planting of edible plants like vegetables, herbs, and fruit will begin in spring 2020. These gardens will serve not only as a localized food source for Moscow, but also as a platform for community engagement, volunteer opportunities, and environmental education programs. The Little Free Garden project began in Fargo, North Dakota and grew into a nationwide movement, with the closest Little Free Gardens located in Bonner's Ferry, Idaho.
