PRESS RELEASE

Rotary Park Playground Replacement Project Begins

July 30, 2020 (Moscow, Idaho) -- The City of Moscow will begin replacing the aging wooden playground equipment at Jim Lyle Rotary Park the week of Aug. 3. Jim Lyle Rotary Park is located on the northwest corner of the intersection at East 'F' Street and Orchard Avenue.

City Council approved the purchase of new playground equipment on Mar. 16, 2020, utilizing Hamilton funds after considering recommendations from the public voting process, Rotary Club of Moscow, Parks and Recreation Commission, and Public Works/Finance Committee.  The new playground will include accessible playground equipment for children ages 5-12.

Removal of the existing playground equipment and surfacing will be completed the week of Aug. 3 by the City of Moscow Parks Crew.  The week of Aug. 10, a concrete pad and replacement of a portion of the existing sidewalk will be installed by local contractors.  Playground equipment and a rubber-tile-safety-surfacing system will be installed by the City of Moscow Parks crew following the concrete work.
