April 2, 2021 (Moscow, Idaho) — The Moscow Police and Finance Departments caution citizens about a telephone scam targeting utility billing customers in Moscow. Citizens have reported receiving calls from individuals identifying themselves as City of Moscow employees asking for bank account information needed to set up new utility billing accounts. City of Moscow staff will never call citizens to request banking information. Should anyone receive a phone call requesting banking or personal information, the best course of action is to end the call immediately and file a report with the Moscow Police Department by calling 208-882-COPS.
