April 16, 2021 (Moscow, Idaho) —The City of Moscow and Farmers Market Commission are excited to announce that artist Julene Ewert has been selected to create the visual design toolkit for the Moscow Farmers Market.
This special design project is intended to serve the brand identity of the Moscow Farmers Market. Ewert will work closely with Community Events Division staff to create a style guide and program graphics that are complementary to existing City of Moscow branding. The graphics and style guide will be used to create a comprehensive visual look for this historic community event.
Of the six applicants, Ewert demonstrated the ability to create a design toolkit which will bridge the Moscow Farmers Market’s identity as a beloved past-time for both locals and visitors, while also recognizing its history as a leader in developing the region’s food system. Ewert has over thirty years of experience with graphic design. Upon receiving the news that she had been selected, Ewert said, “I love Moscow and the strong sense of community. I’m thrilled and honored to be working with the Moscow Farmers Market to establish a Design Toolkit. It is incredibly exciting to be able to contribute, invest and have a positive impact in the place I call home.”
“Julene’s work is always recognizable and so the selection committee was amazed by the depth of her portfolio; it’s clear that she works with clients to find the correct, artful fit. She understands the Market from a very intimate perspective and I can’t wait to see how she translates that,” said Farmers Market Commission Chair Jamie Hill. Hill was one of five reviewers on the selection committee and presented the two final recommendations to the Farmers Market Commission at their April meeting. Commission members voted unanimously to select Ewert for the design project.
