July 19, 2021 (Moscow, Idaho) — The Third Street Utility Undergrounding project will begin on July 20, 2021, and is expected to be substantially completed by Aug. 31, 2021.
The Third Street Utility Underground project consists of converting overhead communication utilities to underground along the Third Street corridor. This project will be performed prior to the commencement of work for the Local Highway Safety Improvement Program (LHSIP) FY2019/2020 of the Third Street Safety Improvement Project Phases 1 and 2. Cold mix asphalt patching will be used to temporarily restore ADA compliant pedestrian pathways after the completion of the conduit installation. A permanent restoration will be performed as part of the LHSIP FY2019/2020 project next summer.
The City of Moscow has contracted with M & L Construction Inc., to complete this project.
During the project, citizens are asked to be aware that there will be temporary lane and sidewalk closures of Third Street, between Main Street and Lieuallen Street while the crews are working in various areas. The City of Moscow appreciates the community’s patience as these necessary repairs and upgrades to the City’s infrastructure are completed.
While every effort is made to adhere to the daily schedule, unforeseen circumstances may require an adjustment. For questions about the project including the project schedule or concerns about resident access, please contact Nathan Suhr in the City of Moscow Engineering Division at 208-883-7029.
