The annual Palouse Plein Air painting competition is drawing near! Artists have their brushes at the ready in anticipation of the painting period to open on September 9.
We’re excited to see what will be created and which locations throughout Latah, Nez Perce, Whitman, and Benewah counties will be represented at the exhibition. Are you curious to see if your favorite Palouse hideout was found? If so, then make plans to spend time with us on Friday, September 17 for the opening reception of the 2021 Palouse Plein Air exhibition! The doors of Moscow Contemporary will be open from 5-7 p.m. Stop on in and enjoy the refreshments, company, and of course, the artwork!
The opening reception will also serve as the official awards ceremony of the Palouse Plein Air painting competition. Artworks will be juried by Jared Shear. Award categories include: 1st, 2nd and 3rd place; Best Palouse, Best Downtown, Best Historical, Best Public Art, and Student Awards.
