Citizen’s Police Academy 



September 20, 2021 (Moscow, Idaho) —  The Moscow Police Department (MPD) will be holding its 20th Annual Citizen Police Academy from Jan. 12 to Mar. 30, 2022.  This eleven-week course meets once a week to provide an opportunity for citizens to learn and experience the law enforcement profession while enhancing communication lines to those citizens we serve and protect.  Course topics include but are not limited to police history, the criminal justice system, patrol procedures, traffic & drug enforcement, criminal investigations, use of force, firearms training, and emergency vehicle operation.
 
Classes will start in Jan. and will be held in the Police Department’s training room at their new facility at 155 Southview Avenue.  Applications are now available at the MPD Lobby from 8 am to 5 pm, Mon. through Fri. Printable versions of the application are also available on the City of Moscow website under Police, but must be submitted in person at the MPD, currently located at 118 E. Fourth Street.

Seating is limited.  The deadline for receiving applications will be Fri., Jan. 3, 2022.  Those interested in receiving further information can call Officer Rick Whitmore at 208-883-7054.
