Sparky the Safety Dog in a Fire Engine Truck

Ripe For the Picking

Hot temperatures have finally arrived at the Moscow Farmers Market and you know what that means: tomatoes, melons, peppers, and more are waiting for you.

We're so excited to be featuring Sparky the Safety Dog at our first August market. Sparky and friends with the Moscow Volunteer Fire Department need your assistance with ringing the opening bell on Saturday, August 4th, as part of their fire truck dedication ceremony. You and your family can gather at the fountain at 7:45 a.m. to walk the length of the market from 3rd Street to 6th Street. Don't forget to check out Fire Station #1 at 603 S. Main Street for ongoing tours of equipment until 11:00 a.m. The Engine Dedication Ceremony is at 9:00 a.m. and will also have an official push-in of Engine 26 into it's parking bay.

Did you know that August 5th-11th is National Farmers Market Week? Help celebrate wherever you may be by seeking out a local farmers market near you to show your support for producers and growers. Also, don't forget to recommend the Moscow Farmers Market in the American Farmland Trust's Farmers Market Celebration.

Remember to stay heat aware when visiting the market by hydrating, wearing a hat, applying sunscreen, and taking plenty of rest breaks on the benches throughout downtown.
