Moscow Artwalk 2018
June 6, 2018 (Moscow, Idaho) -- The City of Moscow and the Moscow Arts Commission would like to invite you to Moscow Artwalk 2018 on Friday June 15th. This year’s Artwalk features 74 host locations and more than 125 artists from the beautiful Moscow, Idaho community.
Featured events include: The Moscow Public Library ribbon cutting by Mayor Bill Lambert starting at 4:00 p.m. for Melissa Cole’s new glass tile pollinators mural and Melissa Cole and Brad McDonald’s gaillardia flower and honey bee sculpture.
The City of Moscow Public Works will host a Gallery on Main between 3rd Street and 1st Street starting at 3:00 p.m. There will be interactive displays and a live art installation.
Live music at 1st and Main will feature the Phoenix Blues Band performing from 3-4:30 p.m. and Shiloh and the Young Guns performing from 5-7 p.m.
Third Street Gallery will feature an exhibit by Artwalk cover artist, Erica Wagner, at Moscow City Hall on the 2nd floor with an opening reception starting at 4:00 p.m. Live music will be provided by Dan Maher from 4-6 p.m. Also, the Appaloosa Lace Guild will be demonstrating lace making techniques from 4-7 p.m.
SMART Transit and the Intermodal Transit Center will host a reception starting at 4:00 p.m. While there check out the new art in the Sculpture Garden.
Live music at Friendship Square starts at 5:00 p.m. and will feature Runaway Symphony; the Moscow Arts Commission Band; The Panhandle Cowboys; and Milonga.
Also, don’t miss the food vendors and art demonstrators on Main Street from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m., featuring: local food vendors from the Moscow Farmers Market; a live dance performance weaving a ribbon of movement down Main Street; Palouse Women Artists with art postcards and mini books; YMCA of the Palouse with face painting and chalk art; Linda Cronquist with hand spinning; Crow Foot Forge with blacksmithing; MaryAnn Fiorillo with face painting; KSmith Ceramics with wheel thrown pottery; Socksylady with circular sock knitting; chess played with 25” pieces; and much more.
Many of the Artwalk 2018 host location opening receptions start at 5:00 p.m. but check out the Artwalk 2018 brochure for details. Brochures will be available on June 15th in the Moscow Pullman Daily News, the Lewiston Tribune, at the Moscow Chamber of Commerce, and online on the City of Moscow website.
Artwalk 2018 posters, signed by the cover artist, are available for pickup at the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Moscow City Hall, while supplies lasts.
