Lane Closures and Detours Expected with Pavement Preservation Slurry Seal
June 8, 2018 (Moscow, Idaho) -- The 2018 Pavement Preservation Slurry Seal projects will begin on June 14, 2018 and are expected to be completed by June 28, 2018.
The Pavement Preservation Slurry Seal project consists of applying an Asphalt Slurry Seal Coat to multiple roads within the City of Moscow. Slurry Seal is a thin layer of fine rock mixed with asphalt that is applied to the road sealing the surface. This application reduces surface wear and extends longevity of the road.
During the project, there will be some single lane closures and some temporary full street closures with detours, depending on locations. The Slurry Seal application is a quick process allowing vehicles to drive on the new surface within approximately 3 to 5 hours.
The contractor, Intermountain Slurry Seal, Inc., will be notifying residents of street closures 48 hours in advance. Additionally, an overall area map and daily schedule map showing construction activities impacting your area are available on the City's website.
While every effort is made to adhere to the daily schedule, unforeseen circumstances may require an adjustment. For questions about the schedule or concerns about resident access, please contact Intermountain Slurry Seal on 775-358-1355. For project specific questions contact City of Moscow Engineering Division at 208-883-7034.
If ADA accessible assistance is needed in this area or if any other City of Moscow project is impacting the ability to access public services, please email the City of Moscow or call 208-883-7600.
