August 30, 2018 (Moscow, Idaho) —
The City of Moscow is considering a proposal to change the name of East Gate Park to Triangle Park. The proposal was made by a citizen who noted that most people already refer to the park as Triangle Park and are unfamiliar with the park’s current name.
East Gate Park is located at 1200 Kamiaken Street, at the corners of Park Drive and Kamiaken Street. Development of East Gate Park was completed in 1976; however, it was never officially named and has been called East Gate Park due to it being located within the East Gate subdivision.
The Parks and Recreation Commission, during their August 23, 2018 meeting, discussed and recommended approval of the name change. Following their recommendation, a 60-day public comment period began on August 25, 2018 and will continue until 5:00 pm on October 24, 2018. Comments on the proposed name change from East Gate Park to Triangle Park may be submitted to the Hamilton Indoor Recreation Center (1724 East F Street), emailed to Dwight Curtis at firstname.lastname@example.org

The Parks and Recreation Commission will review and consider comments at their October 25, 2018 meeting prior to making a final recommendation to the Moscow City Council.
