Third Street Gallery Exhibit - “Stuff: What We Collect and Why”

October 29, 2018 (Moscow, Idaho) — A speaker series for the Third Street Gallery exhibit titled “STUFF: What We Collect and Why” will be held on Thursday, November 1, 2018 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at Moscow City Hall (206 East Third on the 2nd floor). A poetry reading by Susan Hodgin, the City of Moscow Poet Laureate will begin at 5:15 p.m.; followed by the guest speaker Richard Old, of Estate Services, starting at 5:30 p.m. Richard will speak on “Downsizing: Smaller amounts of Stuff!”. The reception is free and open to the public.

"Nearly everyone is a collector. It is a universal impulse and humans have been assembling groupings of like items for thousands of years. What we collect and why, however, varies tremendously. In STUFF, we explore just a few of the reasons why people right here in our community have amassed boxes of things, from promotional pens to science fiction figurines to old bank notes," Dulce Kersting-Lark, Executive Director at Latah County Historical Society.

The exhibit runs through Wednesday, January 2, 2019.

The final speaker will present on Thursday, December 6, 2018 in the Council Chambers at Moscow City Hall (206 East Third on the 2nd floor). A reading by Susan Hodgin, the City of Moscow Poet Laureate will begin at 5:15 p.m. followed by the guest speaker beginning at 5:30 p.m.
