February 19, 2019 (Moscow, Idaho) — Calling all painters! Save the date for the tenth annual Palouse Plein Air.
What is Plein Air?
French for “in the open air” used to describe the act of painting outdoors. Plein air competitions are all about painting outdoors in a specific area or region and then having those paintings exhibited in an art gallery.
Competition Dates and Fees:
This multi-day painting competition begins Saturday, September 14, 2019 and runs through Friday, September 20, 2019! The competition is open to artists 18 years-of-age or older. All painting mediums are welcome!
The entrance fee is:
- $20 per participant
- $15 per University of Idaho / Washington State University / Lewis-Clark State College student participant
The entrance fee includes registration in the competition and an invitation to the Artist Reception and Awards Ceremony on Friday, September 20, 2019 at the Prichard Art Gallery in the Children’s Education Studio (414 South Main Street).

Friday, September 20, 2019 through Sunday, October 6, 2019
Reception and awards ceremony:
Friday, September 20, 2019 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Artwork Drop Off:
Thursday, September 19, 2019 from 5 to 8 p.m.
Friday, September 20, 2019 from 8 to 11 a.m.
