April 9, 2019 (Moscow, Idaho -- Continual rainfall, with more intense periods this afternoon, have resulted in localized flooding. With more rain in the forecast, City of Moscow crews are working to minimize the impacts of flooding as much as possible. The City is asking residents take the following steps to help minimize the impact of flooding:
- Help keep any known catch basins near your property clear of debris
- Do not drive through water across a street. It can be hard to gauge the depth of water.
- Respect road closures, and do not drive around signs.
- Should localized flooding occur at your property, the City has a large supply of sand bags that are available to residents free of charge. There is a filling station at the City Shop located at 650 N VanBuren Street equipped with sand, bags, and shovels. If you have concerns, please contact us at 208-883-7097.
The City of Moscow will continue to monitor conditions and respond to areas of need.
