May 29, 2019 (Moscow, Idaho) — The City of Moscow Historic Preservation Commission is currently accepting Orchid Award nominations through a new online form to allow community members to help select this year’s Orchid Award nominees.
The Orchid Awards are a staple of the City of Moscow and the Historic Preservation Commission. Dating back to at least 1998, the Historic Preservation Commission has awarded Orchids to businesses, individuals, contractors and institutions for work that demonstrates outstanding examples of historic preservation and stewardship in the community.
All nominees must be Moscow residents, or perform their work toward preservation within the Moscow city limits. There are seven different categories that are eligible for an Orchid Award, including: Excellence in Historic Preservation; Contribution to Historic Preservation; Preservation-sensitive New Construction; Friend of Preservation; Distinguished Preservationist; Cultural Heritage Preservation; and Heritage Stewardship.
To see a detailed description of each category, past awards winners, or to submit a nomination, please visit the Orchid Awards website at https://www.ci.moscow.id.us/436/Orchid-Awards. All nominations must be submitted by June 14, 2019.
