Experience the fun of Moscow Artwalk from 4 to 9 p.m. on June 21! This event is one of the many arts and cultural activities that make Moscow a vibrant community, and the City of Moscow celebrates this annual event’s 15th year with art exhibitions by over 100 artists in more than 65 host locations.
Participants use a colorful brochure to take a self-guided tour of participating Moscow businesses displaying the works of local and regional artists. Brochures will be available on June 15th at the Moscow Farmers Market and June 21st in the Moscow Pullman Daily News, the Lewiston Tribune, at the Moscow Chamber of Commerce, and online on the City of Moscow website. The length of exhibitions at each host location varies, so check with individual businesses to find out how long artwork will be displayed.
Main Street Events
The City of Moscow Public Works Department will host a Gallery on Main between 3rd and 1st Streets from 4 – 8 p.m. There will be informative displays, an equipment gallery, and interactive art projects. On the south side of Main Street between 3rd and 6th streets, look for music, food vendors and art demonstrators from 5 – 9 p.m. Street performers will travel the length of Main Street from 1st to 6th, so be on the lookout for some magic wandering the streets!
Live music on Main Street will include stages at 1st and Main and Friendship Square. Performances at 1st and Main will begin at 4 p.m. and feature: Dan Maher, The Range Benders, and Pick Axe. Performances at Friendship Square will begin at 5 p.m. and feature: Washington-Idaho Symphony, Brady Goss, and LA and the Earthquakes.
Artwalk 2019 Poster Artist
Clara Nickels’ Artwalk 2019 poster image will be on display at the Third Street Gallery as part of the exhibition entitled Creation. Additional featured works include Nickels’ handmade pottery and short time lapse video clips of the artist’s creative process. New works by artists from the University of Idaho College of Art + Architecture are installed at the Intermodal Transit Center Sculpture Garden. The Transit Center’s annual Poetry on the Buses program kicks off with a reception from 4 – 5 p.m., which will include readings by participating poets.
The City of Moscow Water Department will host a dedication ceremony at 6 p.m. for the new mural on the north and west facing walls of the Water Filter Plant at Jackson and A Street. Join in celebrating the work of mural artist FABS, who has created an artwork depicting a cross-section of the Moscow-Pullman aquifer.
