Herbicide Application – Downtown Tree Wells

June 17, 2019 (Moscow, Idaho) —  City of Moscow Parks Crews will be applying a pre-emergent herbicide, Surflan, and a weed control herbicide, GlyStar Plus, to the tree wells located downtown area to control overgrowth of vegetation and noxious weeds. The herbicide application will be completed by parks crews who are licensed with the Idaho Department of Agriculture as professional applicators.

Weather permitting, the application will be completed between 3 and 8 a.m. on the preferred date of Wednesday, June 19 with an alternate application date of Thursday, June 20. Prior to treatment, each tree well will be posted with an orange flag reading “Caution Pesticide Application”. Flags do read pesticide, but it is an herbicide that is being applied.

The public is encouraged to be aware of treated areas marked with these orange flags and are asked not to enter the dirt in the tree well until the flags are removed indicating the herbicide solution has dried and the treatment is complete.
