City of Moscow Begins Preventative Treatments for Dutch Elm Disease in East City Park

June 18, 2019 (Moscow, Idaho) —  The City of Moscow will begin preventative treatments for Dutch Elm Disease beginning on Monday, June 24 and ending by Wednesday, June 26.  The goal of the preventative treatments is to preserve the many large-class prized elm trees in East City Park.

The elm trees will be injected with a fungicide, Arbotect 20-S, which is directly injected into the tree root flares by City staff licensed as professional applicators with the Idaho Department of Agriculture.

The Sustainable Environment Commission with the City of Moscow has reviewed and approved the use of Arbotect 20-S for preventative treatments in elm trees for Dutch Elm Disease prevention.
