City of Moscow Begins Preventative Treatments for Dutch Elm Disease in East City Park

July 16, 2019 (Moscow, Idaho) —  The City of Moscow will begin preventative treatments for Dutch Elm Disease in East City Park beginning on Wednesday, July 17 and ending by Friday, July 26. The goal of the preventative treatments is to preserve the many large-class prized elm trees in the Park.

During the treatment process, City staff licensed as professional applicators with the Idaho Department of Agriculture will directly inject the elm tree root flares with the fungicide Arbotect 20-S. The Sustainable Environment Commission has reviewed and approved Arbotect 20-S as a preventative for Dutch Elm Disease.

The preventative treatments had been planned for mid-June but were not completed as scheduled.
