June 25, 2019 (Moscow, Idaho) — The City of Moscow will have three open City Council positions, to be decided during the General Election, November 5, 2019. Each of these positions is a four-year term to take office during the first City Council meeting of January 2020.
Declaration of Candidacy forms needed to run for office, which are required by the State of Idaho to be picked up and submitted in hardcopy, will be accepted beginning at 8:00 a.m. on August 26, 2019 through 5:00 p.m. on Friday, September 6, 2019. These forms may be picked up and dropped off to Laurie Hopkins, Moscow City Clerk at email@example.com or to Moscow City Hall, 206 E Third Street, Suite 300.
Potential candidates may begin fundraising prior to filing Declaration of Candidacy forms, but must complete and submit an Appointment and Certification of Political Treasurer Form (State of Idaho Form C-1) prior to receiving any campaign related funds. This form must be submitted electronically per State Statute. It may be emailed or a digital copy may be delivered to Laurie Hopkins, Moscow City Clerk at firstname.lastname@example.org or to Moscow City Hall, 206 E Third Street, Suite 300. This requirement as well as all other rules and regulations outlined by the Idaho State Statute for campaign finance are included in the State of Idaho Campaign Finance Reporting Manual.
