Voices of Moscow Project

August 12, 2019 (Moscow, Idaho) —  The City of Moscow and the Human Rights Commission are proud to announce the Voices of Moscow project, a survey designed to determine what, if any, groups are underrepresented or misrepresented in the City of Moscow. This project, led by Defne Yuksel, the high school member of the Moscow Human Rights Commission, is co-sponsored by the Human Rights Commission and the Moscow High School’s Human Rights and International Club. The Voices of Moscow project will be concluded by December 31, 2019. 

The public is encouraged to take part in the project by visiting a participating business or organization, filling out the short survey, and then placing the completed survey in the provided shoebox. Participating locations include:

  • Gritman Medical Center
  • One World Café
  • Moscow Food Co-Op
  • Latah County Recovery Center
  • Moscow Bagel and Deli
  • Slice and Biscuit
  • Panhandle Cone & Coffee
  • Café Artista
  • Humble Burger
  • University of Idaho Commons on the University of Idaho Campus
  • Pitman Center on the University of Idaho Campus 
  • Moscow Chamber of Commerce
  • Moscow City Hall
  • Kula Yoga and Tea
  • Alternatives to Violence on the Palouse
  • New Saint Andrews College

“Discovering what people think about the issues they believe are important is a major step in the City’s future,” said Ken Faunce, Human Rights Commission Chair. “The information gathered here will truly help us discover how our community feels, what our members believe are important for us as a City.”
