August 19, 2019 (Moscow, Idaho) — Most downtowns discourage vandals, we throw block parties for them! Join the City of Moscow, Moscow Chamber of Commerce, and University of Idaho at this year’s Vandal Town Block Party on Thursday, September 5 from 5-9 p.m. on Main Street in downtown Moscow.
Open to residents and students alike, herald in the start of the fall semester and new school year with lawn games, food trucks, and live entertainment.
Kick-off the evening with the “Where’s Joe Vandal?” scavenger hunt. Several Joe Vandal plushie dolls will be hiding in downtown businesses waiting to be spotted. This year features both a College Edition for University of Idaho students and a Junior Vandal Edition for resident families. Follow your scavenger hunt passport instructions for your chance to win one of two prizes baskets. Passport drawings will take place at 6:45 p.m. in Friendship Square.
For more family-friend options, visit our Family-Friendly Zone for oversized chess, checkers, tic-tac-toe toss, Connect Four, and more. Returning students should visit the Vandal Zone for a chance at gladiator jousting with a friend (participants must be eighteen years of age or older), oversized Jenga, and corn hole. Joe Vandal himself is also making an appearance, so don’t forget to say hello and give him a high five!
This year’s live entertainment is provided by two Idaho-based bands. The Seven Devils take the Friendship Square Stage at 5:00 p.m. followed by Red Light Challenge at 7:00 p.m.
