Carol Ryrie Brink Nature Park
This secluded park, which includes a nature watching area and a trail, is a nice place to go for lunch, a picnic, or an easy stroll through nature. The park is owned by the Moscow School District, located adjacent to the Moscow School District Community Playfields, but is maintained by the City. Named in honor of author Caroline Sybil Ryrie Brink, born in Moscow, Idaho in 1895 and later raised here by her grandmother Caroline Woodhouse Watkins. Her grandmother was the inspiration for Brink's award winning book, Caddie Woodlawn. Her father, Alexander Ryrie, was Moscow's mayor from 1895 to 1897. Her maternal grandfather, Dr. William W. Watkins, was the first president of the state's medical association and a member of the University of Idaho's board of regents.
